PAPA Reflection on Change

PAPA Reflection on Change

Review your unit 3 personal assessment of your psychological, physical, and spiritual well-being. Reflect on these areas. How did you score yourself on a scale from 1 to 10 in unit 3? How do you score yourself now? Has the score changed? Why or why not? I had not compared the scores until this unit and I am happy to report some progress. In the spiritual domain I rated myself as an 8 and this has increased to a 9 as I have been able to implement one of my goals to include another time of devotion during the day. In the psychological domain I have gone from a 7 to an 8 and in the physical domain, I have gone from a 5 to a 7. Psychologically, I am learning to train my thoughts and to develop the subtle mind. I have implemented an exercise routine by establishing a time and a place for it at the beginning of my day. I feel like this course has benefited me personally by helping me to realize how a noisy, unfocused mind can lead to less than optimal wellness. There are some precepts that I held at the beginning of class that still hold such as; healing begins on the inside. I knew how stress affects the body, mind and spirit-its' role in disease. I knew the role of reframing one's thoughts and keeping a positive attitude, but did not place much stock in meditation or visualization. I now know what it means to train the mind and this knowledge is dynamic and transforming. By witnessing your thoughts you begin the journey in a place of honesty. You can begin to tame your own worst enemy-the one who knows you best with all of your vulnerabilities. In spiritual circles this is the adversary of the soul. I believe from this place I can help those who truly want wellness. I will recommend the relaxation, meditation and visualization techniques to my clients along with their conventional treatments. I will continue to read books and other thing to focus on the task like T.D. Jake Reposition Yourself

  1. Glad to hear that this class has helped. It sure has helped me. I also found peace in calming my thoughts. I knew that stress affected a person but I never thought of the extent of damage stress could do. TD Jakes is a good author and devotions and prayer is how I have made a difference in how I start my day. Good luck to you in the future!!

  2. You are so on target with the power of meditation or visualization. One of the audios i had my grand children listen to and one of them could not sit still and kept peeking out of her eyes and she is four. The other is nine and i feel as if she almost fell asleep. I had them listen to the audio after having them for almost four days. So they had been eating organics and whole foods at this point. All so interesting. I am glad you increased all your areas of personal growth and hope you continue to bring them all to a ten.

    Be Well inside and out
    Sincerely, diana
